Show not tell settings

Early in the morning at seven my alarm clock rang. “It’s seven already” I said “hurry up get up” my mum shouted. I didn’t wanna get up because it is so cold I huddled myself with the blanket, I went right underneath my blanket and put the pillow over my ears so I wouldn’t hear anything.

My mum kept on saying “hurry up get up your gonna be late for school” but then I went back to sleep. “I’m still really tired” I said to my mum. Then a few minutes later I accidentally fell back to sleep. My mum came to my room “hurry up” she said.

The Samoan group

The Samoan group
Today at assembly when we went to the hall we sat down in the front row and there was a Samoan group from Tamaki College sitting on the stage. They were waiting for everyone to come so they could start performing.

As soon as they started performing I thought they were really awesome. The song they started with was a clapping song and the moves were really fast.

There performance was good when they finished everyone clapped and cheered for them then they went of the stage. Then Mr Burt started talking how good the performance was for a little bit.

Then after a little while the Samoan group came back on stage and they did another performance but it was a shorter one. Then when they finished we all cheered and clapped for them and that was the end of the Samoan group.

Angry Emily

In a few minutes later Laura was going to do shopping. When Laura was going Emily came in and saw Laura grab the car keys. “Oh are you going shopping” Emily said to Laura and Laura said yes “Oh cool can I come” Emily replied back. “No because every time you come shopping with me you always embarrass me by yelling and stuff and you always say can I have this can I have that”. Laura replied back to Emily. Emily got really angry and had red cheeks and a angry face. She rolled her eyes and clenched her fist. “I hate you don’t talk to me again” Emily said back in a nasty voice. She slammed her bedroom door and locked herself inside “I’m gonna go shopping by myself one day” Emily thought to herself.

Keri was nervous
Keri is playing in a netball game. Keri woke up and went to get ready she is a really good netball player so the coach made her become captain. She was having a shower and getting ready. When she got out she quickly dried and and got dressed. She put her socks and shoes on. She was looking for her netball “I can’t find my netball” Keri said to her dad “Try look harder” her dad said back to Keri. Keri was nervous because she thought when she returned to the game everyone would have looked at her and laughed at her. She is nervous because she might have let her team down.

Tame was excited
Tame is really excited because her best friend was gonna pick her up to go on a fishing trip. Her friend rang her “Sorry but I can’t pick you up to go on a fishing trip i’m so sorry” her friend said to her on the phone. So Tame was really sad because her friend couldn't pick her up. She was getting ready to wait outside for her friend but now her friend isn’t coming.

The Pt England way

                         The Pt England way

How the Pt England way came
The Pt England way came out because people wasn’t using them. People kept on getting beaten up and lots of little kids kept on getting bullied and the big kids couldn't help picking on the little kids.

Paragraphs
The Pt England way is to be kind to others if people keep on bullying little kids and if the little kids cry and tell the teachers then you will get into trouble so that is why you should be kind so you won’t have to get to trouble.

The other Pt England way is to put stuff where they belong if you grab a ball or something from the sports shed and if the bell rings to go back to class then put the things back where you got it from.

Another one is to listen to the teachers if a teacher ask you to do something then you should do it straight away. Another Pt England way is Puro to potai it means to wear your hat at morning tea and at lunch time.

Another Pt England way is to show respect to little kids if little kids are new to that school then the big kids should show them around the school. Another Pt England way is don’t fight if a person is angry at another person then they should try not to fight them.

Another one is don’t bully other little kids if the little kids are walking around the school then the big kids shouldn't push them and call them names. Another Pt England way is to listen to the teachers if a teacher tells you to do something then you should never walk away while a teacher tells you to do it

Another one is don’t get smart to teachers if a teacher tells you to do something then you should never answer them back. One more Pt England way is to never bully people if someone is on the monkey bars then people should never kick them or anything.

Netbook reflection

Having a netbook is cool because we don't have to use pencil and paper we use our netbooks instead. I reckon it's really cool having a netbook because you can learn more on it.

The things that I learnt on my netbook is drawing, writing, spelling and maths. I learn my maths on this math site called xtramath and math whizz. They can make you learn hard maths on math whizz and on xtramath they make you answer the most answers to lots of maths if you finish the whole thing then they put you on the faster time they make you have two seconds. To try answer all of it.

Then if you finish the whole thing then you get on to one point five second
and that is the last one and that is the one I am on and if you finish that whole thing then you finish it all you don't have to do anymore xtramath.

Prize giving night

                        Prize giving night
On Thursday the 12th of December the people starting from years 5 to 8 went to prize giving. It started at seven at night time and finished at 8. When I got to the school I went to play with my friend her name is Faridah. Then at ten to seven we ran to the hall to get in our dancing lines then we went to sit down. Mr Burt came and he started talking.

Then after he was talking the year five’s went up stage to perform their dance they were good and lots of kids were cheering for their friends. The year five’s finished their dance and we were all cheering for them.

Then they went back to sit down. Mr Burt called out peoples names so they can get a prize after the people went back to sit down from getting their prize. The year 6s went up stage to perform. I started cheering for my friend Faridah and she waved at me.

They were good as well when they finished their dance I clapped and cheered. Mr Burt came out again and called people for prizes. Then after that Mr Burt said and now it’s time for the year seven item all the year seven people stood up and went on stage.

When I went on stage I was so nervous and so was some other people. Then the music started we were dancing to a song called fresh prince of bel air then we started dancing. Everybody was cheering at all of us. When we finished our dance my mum clapped and cheered.

Then we went of stage and Faridah clapped and cheered at me. Then we went to sit down and Mr Burt said peoples names to get prizes. Then after they went of stage the year 8s went to perform. After their performance everyone started cheering loud and they sat down on stage.

Then everyone turned around and we sang a song to all the parents and that song was called strive to succeed. Then after we were singing Mr Burt was talking for a little and then he said that we could leave and we all stood up and walked out the hall then my mum came and waited for me to come and then everybody went home.
